Twinned Cerussite specimen from Tsumeb Mine, Tsumeb, Otjikoto Region, Namibia

USD150.00

Description

2.9 x 2.8 x 1.5 cm

16 grams

Sharp, twinned Cerussite cluster exhibiting the classic cyclical twinning that produced a nice snowflake shaped cluster. There’s actually two generations of growth here – you can see the first generation as a recessed region on the “fuller” side of the specimen, with matter luster that contrasts with the rest of the specimens second generation of growth.Complete all around as well! Quite aesthetic, as well as from the eternally popular and long defunct Tsumeb Mine! One of the richest ore bodies in the world, the Tsumeb Mine produced millions of tons of metallic ores as well as numerous varieties of minerals, in all sorts of combinations! Cerussite, especially in a striking, twinned form such as this, are what collectors go for from the Tsumeb Mine!

Please note that the picture shows different views of the same specimen.
