Trinitite parcel from White Sands Missile Range, Socorro Co., New Mexico

USD40.00

Description

2.2 x 2.1 x .8 cm

9.6 grams

Trinitite parcel – formed from the tremendous heat of the first artificial nuclear detonation in history! The sand within a 50 yard radius surrounding the detonation site was almost instantaneously superheated and fused into a foamy green glass seen here. This may be a man-made “mineral”, but of historical importance and definitely interesting.
