Large, sharp Hydroxyl-Apatite crystal on a crystalline Feldspar shard from the famous Sapo Mine in Brazil. This is truly a prime, aesthetic specimen. The Hydroxyl-Apatite crystal is quite large, at 3.1 cm long, and very well formed as well as intact, given its size. Unlike many Sapo Hydroxyl-Apatites, this one isn’t lying so flat on its matrix that the termination is obscured. This crystal is sporting a full termination that faces the viewer given the dramatic pose of the crystal on its contrasting Feldspar matrix. What might appear to be some damage to the upper left is intact and fully crystallized, only a little interrupted during growth. Just an outstanding specimen all around, and the one piece in particular from this auction that I am really regretting not holding back for myself…
