Two Elbaite Tourmaline cabochons from the famed Himalaya Mine of California! This locality has without a doubt produced some of the best Tourmaline to come out of North America, and the most prolific of the American Tourmaline localities as well. Long known for having supplied the Empress of China in the early 20th century with the finest pink Tourmaline the world had ever seen. Most of it was made into intricate carvings and curios, but finished gems such as faceted stones and cabochons like these here are the best way to appreciate this skillfully crafted material… There’s a slight bicolored nature to the one at right, as the area in the highest part of the ‘dome’ of the cab has is a solid pink and towards the back turns green. The left piece is a solid bubblegum pink! These would look beautiful in a wrap, or stunning if set in traditional jewelry. Don’t skip ’em!
